Join the Nature Journal Club for a Fall field trip in the woodlands around Stafford Lake Park. Meet at the end of the parking area. We will take the Terwilliger Nature Trail to sketch and explore. Bring a potluck lunch treat to share (and your own bowl and spoon). We will have lunch on the trail so make sure what you bring can be easily carried in your backpack. No registration required, families and all ability levels welcome, $20 suggested donation.

Splash and scribble: wet watercolor and aquarelle pencils (Tiburon)

Working with wet watercolor and aquarelle will help your journal sketching become more lively and spontaneous. Instead of carefully drawing lines and then coloring them in, we’ll invert the process, splashing down loose watercolor and then drawing into it to define shapes. We’ll also explore some special effects you can get with wet-on-wet watercolor. This approach is very forgiving, allowing you to feel your way gradually into a drawing, discovering the scene as you build it up. The class will be mostly…
