Please note that the location of this field trip has changed to Mori Point in Pacifica.
Join us for the inaugural outing of the Bay Area Nature Journal Club! Learn new tricks and materials for nature journaling as we explore Mori Point. This is a great trip to get comfortable with and customize your nature journal kit, to see what other nature sketchers bring with them and refine your materials. You will have opportunities to explore new media and see demonstrations of techniques for fast field sketching. Remember to bring a bowl and spoon and something to share for the potluck lunch. You may also want a portable stool or a siting pad as the ground may still be wet from the recent rains. The hike will be an easy 3 miles and the trail may be muddy. See Bay Area Hiker for trail details and driving directions. There are no public restrooms at Mori Point but there is a public restroom at the cafe at the base of the fishing pier near the meeting location.
We will meet at the Sharp Park State Beach Trailhead at the intersection of Beach Blvd and Clarendon in Pacifica. If you need an address for a GPS use 2409 Beach Blvd. Pacifica (but do not knock on their door). If rain is likely, check this website in the morning before leaving to see if there is an alternate location for the field trip.
